Jolla Sailfish US: Ready for the Global Roll-out

Operating system Sailfish US has now reached version 1.0, and get ready to conquer the world and those customers who may be tired of Android.

Just before Christmas was Jolla mobile ready for you, as a mobile to about 3000 us $., which offers a different experience than what the competition has to offer.

Jolla have today told in a press release that the operating system has reached us, Sailfish version 1.0., and thus ready for commercial deployment. Are you tired of the user interface on Android phone, so is Jolla maybe just for you.

“Customers are now able to install their favorite Android App Store, and choose between oceans of available Android applications. In addition, the active and passionate Sailfish US-society already developed major social media apps such as Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare, Whatsapp especially for Sailfish US, “says Marc Dillon, who is co-founder and COO of Jolla.

First an app, then the actual US

The developers behind Sailfish US has already ported operating system to several popular devices, such as Samsung Galaxy, Google Nexus, Sony Xperia. The team also is working on porting to the very popular Chinese Xiaomi-products.

First, however, there is a Sailfish interface-launcher under way in app form so people can simulate Sailfish Android experience on Android phones. The app will be available for download in the near future from Jolla.com and from Google Play.

“We see this as a huge opportunity for Sailfish US, as there are close to a billion Android users globally.Many of them are looking for new user experiences to freshen their existing devices up. Last year in China got about 100 million devices new operating system after purchase, so therefore can Sailfish US scale in the volume quickly without restrictions. This is an expansion opportunity in the same way as we have seen in the mobile gaming industry recently, “says Antti Saarnio, President of the Board of Directors of Jolla.

Jolla informs us that the software will be released in stages, during the first half of the year 2014, but that it is app-launcheren, first on the market, so Android users can try it in the roll with the new user interface.
